An MSc graduate in Counselling & Psychotherapy
(University of Edinburgh), I have trained in both psychodynamic and
person-centred theories. I also hold a Postgraduate Certificate in
Eating Disorders & Clinical Nutrition (University College London), a
Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling Skills (COSCA - Counselling
& Psychotherapy in Scotland) & a B.A. in Psychology (The American
University of Paris). I am continuously developing my skills through
continuing education courses in areas such as trauma & crisis
interventions.
I have worked in private psychiatric settings as well as for
the United Nations, in both cases working with and advocating for
survivors of violent trauma. Today, my practice is geared towards
working with expats across the globe who are experiencing anxiety,
depression, eating disorders and/or symptoms of PTSD.
As a therapist, my approach is broad-based. While I enjoy
working from a psychodynamic perspective, I am not protocol driven.
Because everyone is unique, I integrate other approaches to tailor
the sessions to each individual. I strongly believe that the
therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in fostering
change, and that problems should be addressed with compassion,
understanding and awareness in order to help achieve relief and
resolution.
Having been an expat myself, I understand the stressors
involved with acclimating to a new country & culture. I would be
honoured to support you during these trying & uncertain times. |
